Most Pakistani families are told their child can work in any study-abroad destination. That is not true for language-course students. Below is what we have verified against official government sources, including the corrections other agents skip.

Two corrections you will not hear from most agents

United Kingdom: Language-course students do not automatically get the right to work. It depends on the visa you are issued and the conditions printed on your eVisa. We confirm yours with Kaplan before you apply. Canada: The well-known 24-hours/week off-campus rule does not apply to students enrolled solely in an English course. IRCC explicitly excludes ESL-only students from off-campus work.

Canada’s well-known 24-hour off-campus rule does not apply to students enrolled solely in an ESL/FSL programme. IRCC explicitly excludes language-only students from off-campus work eligibility.

France

964 hrs / year

France grants work rights to anyone holding a student visa — the level or type of study does not matter. Language-school students at Azurlingua Nice have the same 964-hour entitlement as university students.

Germany

20 hrs / week

Germany extended work rights to language-course and Studienkolleg students under the 2024 Skilled Immigration Act reform. Kaplan students in Berlin and Freiburg can work part-time from day one.

USA (F-1) and Switzerland are not included above — language-course students in those countries do not have the same broad work entitlements. We cover the specifics during your consultation.
